The Baum Rabbit is a legendary ghostly white rabbit with red eyes that, according to Rochdale folklore, haunts the area around St Mary’s in the Baum church. Often described as a "boggart" or "bogey" used to frighten children, it appeared as a menacing, pure-white spirit with bright red eyes that vanished when approached.
